Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling (B.A.C.P Accredited)

September 2018 – July 2019

This is a well established work-based clinical training which leads to a professional qualification in psychodynamic counselling and provides both clinical and theoretical elements of the training as a psychodynamic counsellor. The course includes theoretical and clinical seminars, tutorial sessions, process groups and workshops, together with supervised clinical practice. This course takes a minimum of two years to complete

The Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling provides clinical practice via a placement within CCF’s own counselling service, where trainees are valued members of our team. Regular weekly supervision is also included, offering unique support and avoiding the difficulty of trainees having to find their own suitable placements and supervisors.

All applicants must have completed an approved non-clinical course of at least 150 hours. Those who undertake this course having completed our Foundation Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling will have completed part of a BACP accredited training. All candidates will have an in-depth assessment to determine their readiness to work with clients. Trainees need to be in personal therapy with an approved therapist at least one year before seeing clients.

The majority of counsellors completing our training programme successfully apply for BACP Individual Accreditation, after completing the required 450 hours of client work.

The course commences in September each year.
